The King’s School-Goa U-17 girls signed off from the 65th Subroto Cup National Football Tournament in emphatic fashion, thrashing Sainik School 6-0 in their final Group A fixture at the Rajokri Football Ground (RFG) in New Delhi on Thursday.

The Goa State Champions had a mixed but encouraging campaign at the national school football tournament, beginning with a disciplined 0-0 draw against Uttar Pradesh on August 19 before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Arunachal Pradesh in their second Group A match on August 20.

They bounced back strongly in their final game against Sainik School on August 21, producing their most dominant performance of the tournament.

Analee D’Costa emerged as the star of the match, scoring four goals to spearhead Goa's attacking display. Rida Jamadar and Joiada Shelomi Rocha added a goal each as The King’s School completed a comprehensive 6-0 victory.

The result gave the Goan girls a winning finish to their national campaign and showcased their ability to respond strongly after the setback against Arunachal Pradesh.

The King’s School-Goa entered the tournament after being crowned Goa State Champions, earning the opportunity to represent the state at one of India’s most recognised school football competitions.

Their Group A campaign began with a hard-fought goalless draw against Uttar Pradesh. The team then faced Arunachal Pradesh in an early-morning encounter on August 20, played at 6:30 AM in rainy conditions, where the Goans went down 3-0.

The team returned to action the following morning against Sainik School and produced a six-goal response to bring their campaign to a memorable close.

The tournament marked The King’s School’s second appearance at the Subroto Cup Nationals, following their representation of Goa in 2024.

The 16-member Goa squad comprised Aaditri Arun Tubachi, Aisha Suzana Fernandes, Amber Kyla Saldanha, Analee D’Costa, Avika A. Shetty, Chrisanne Cardoz, Delphia Kelly Souza, Gowraví Ganapati Naik, Joiada Shelomi Rocha, Lara Caroline D’Cruz, Michelle Rose Reju, Mili Pankaj Shinde, Rianne Angel Mendes, Rida Jamadar, Risha Albert Carvalho and Saanvi Pruthviraj Chavan.

The team was guided by coaches Sagun Gaonkar and Domiana Gomendes, with Nalini Rodrigues serving as Team Coordinator.
