C D’Silva is a senior artiste of the Konkani stage who hasgiven yeoman service to the tiatrs. He is a versatile artiste who is known forhis acting and portraying different roles on stage. As an artiste he hasexcelled in portraying several characters in tiatrs, winning the admiration ofthe viewers. He has played the roles of a father, grand-father, elderly woman,son, brother, and enacted character roles of a farmer, fisherman, thief, thug,toddy taper, villain, policeman, advocate, and brought the characters to life.
In his tiatr ‘Pixem’ C D’Silva portrayed the negativecharacter of a fraudulent ‘agent’. The former Speaker of the Goa LegislativeAssembly late Froilano Machado bestowed upon him the title of ‘Man of 1000Faces’ and felicitated him in the presence of noted Konkani writer and novelistBonaventure de Pietro at a special function held at the Gomant Vidya Niketan,Margao. From then onwards, he was called the ‘man of 1000 faces’ among thetiatrist fraternity.
