Former PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao on Tuesday said that a chief minister from the minority community will help resolve the contentious issue of medium of instruction.
He also said that the State Congress president, who will be elected from Navelim, will help the people by coming out with a single window system to streamline permission for house constructions by Goans.
Speaking at an impressive public meeting at the Dando grounds, Churchilll assured the people of Benaulim constituency that he would get the MoI issue resolved after the election. “This is one issue which has been bothering the parents and public. A chief minister from the minority community should certainly help the resolve the issue once for all,” he said.
Promising to accord top priority for MoI and to bring a health centre and ambulances in Benaulim, Churchill said if the government dilly dallies on this issue, he would spend his personal money to reallise the dream of Benaulikars to have a centre in the constituency.
NCP leaders, including MP Tariq Anwar, called upon the people of Benaulim to elect Churchill for their benefit and for Goa. “Churchill’s presence is required in the Assembly to solve the issues plaguing Goa and Goans”, Anwar said.
Churchill’s daughter Valanka urged the womenfolk to vote for people who respect women and honour their dignity. Saying that derogatory remarks have been made at her by rival politics, Valanka said politicians, who does not know to respect women have no right to seek votes from women.
