With the arrest of two of the seven-member gang involved in a robbery on December 26, 2016 at a flat in Rangavi Estate, Bogmalo, Vasco police claims to have finally cracked the case.
Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo stated that with the help of CCTV footage they could identify the culprits and during investigation, obtained clues that a local gang from the slums of Zuari Nagar may have been involved in the robbery.
“After keeping a strict vigil in the Zuari Nagar slums, we managed to arrest the two youth and efforts are on to trace and nab the other five, whom we have already identified,” said PI Raposo.
“Though we have arrested two accused, we are yet to recover the stolen jewellery and for that, we have sought the 11-day police custody of the accused for further interrogation,” PI Roposo added.
It may be recalled that seven persons were involved in a robbery in the wee hours of December 26, 2016, after they entered a rented flat at Rangavi Estate, Bogmallo and decamped with jewellery worth Rs 5.75 lakh.
