Ticket sales open at Fatorda

The physical sale of tickets for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 started in Goa on Thursday with the official launch of the Box Office near the Sports Authority of Goa​ ​Indoor​ ​Stadium at Fatorda.

Football fans will now be able to book their place in history by buying the tickets from the counters that will be open from 10 am to 5 pm.
Tournament Director of the LOC, Javier Ceppi said, "We had promised all Goans that we would open physical ticket sales and we are happy with the way they have responded. So far, today has been the day in which more tickets have been sold in Goa and we would encourage all fans to come and book their tickets soon, because the inventory may run out sooner than what is expected."
The tickets will be sold at discounted rates till October 5 and are priced at Rs 150 for category 3 seats in north and south stands and Rs 300 for category 2 in the east stands. The Goa matches will be played at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, which will host nine matches from October 7 to
October 21.
Goa hosts the following matches and tickets for all are currently available at the Box Office counters: October 7 - Germany v Costa Rica, Iran v Guinea, October 10 - Costa Rica v Guinea, Iran v Germany, October 13 - Costa Rica v Iran, Niger v Brazil, October 17 - Round of 16 matches (2), October 21 - Quarter-final.
Tickets for ​the six Host Cities, including Goa, are available on www.fifa.com/india2017/ticketing.

NDRF conducts mock drill at Nehru Stadium

In preparation to the FIFA under-17 World Cup which is just over a month away, the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) conducted a mock drill at Nehru stadium, Fatorda on Thursday morning.

MARGAO:With South Goa Collector and Divisional Magistrate Anjali Sehrawat present, the team which comprised of various government agencies like medical services, bomb disposal squad, PWD, Police and other agencies examined the preparedness of the venue in the run-up to the marquee tournament.
