Rossman Cruz, Nagoa thumped Cuncolim Union 6-2 in the Goa Tiger Cup 2022 All-Goa Inter-Village football tournament, organised by Goa United Sports Academy at Rosary ground, Navelim on Sunday.
Rossman Cruz opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Stephen. Soon, Desmon doubled the lead in the 41st minute. Cuncolim Union were nowhere in the match as they failed to match the opposition tactics.
In the second half, Rossman Cruz scored regularly as Stephen completed his hat-trick while Jesloy and Savio netted one each. Cuncolim’s both goals came late through Trijoy.
At Calangute, Saligao United edged past St Mathew’s SC, Azzosim, 7-6 via tie-breaker at Poriat ground. The teams were locked 2-2 at full time.
St Mathew’s scored through Olvin Cardozo and Somnath Patil while Nikhil Naik and Paulo Joao were on target for Saligao. In the tie-breaker, St Mathew’s scored through Filton D’Cunha, Olvin Cardozo, Selveno Gonsalves and Steven Gonsalves. Nikhil Naik, Paulo Joao, Siddesh Kesarkar, Latest Mandrekar and Channel Fernandes were on target for Saligao. Saligao goalkeeper Augustine D’Mello was adjudged as the Man of the Match.
