Tilamola United Sports Club beat Maina Sports Club 4-3 in a thrilling game of the Goa Football Association Third Division League, played at Chandor Church Ground on Monday.
Starting the match on a positive front, Tilamola United managed to break the deadlock at the half-hour mark through Assli Carvalho. Tilamola United then doubled their lead through Alvino Carvalho in the 39th minute. The winners led 2-0 at the break.
Crossing over, Maina SC were a totally transformed side as they took out an all-attack approach. They reduced the deficit through Aleeward Mascarenhas. However, Rellon Nogueiro scored the third for the winners in the 58th minute. Maina SC scored two more goals through Sunny Fernandes and Placidinho Fernandes in the 70th and 79th minutes respectively.
Meanwhile, St Anthony’s Colva registered a resounding 5-1 win over Dando Boys Benaulim at Benaulim ground. In another match, Sporting Club de Davorlim and St Sebastiao played out a 2-2 draw. At Raia Ground, Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club gained a walkover after Maharudra SCC failed to report at the venue.
YSC Colvale scored a fluent 4-0 win over Augustias SC at Duler Stadium. The winners led 3-0 at the lemon break after Nehal Parsekar, Satyam Gawas and Amar Ahmed scored. Crossing over, Nehal scored his second to take the final tally to 4-0.
United Club of Nerul rallied to hold Adarsh Yuvak Sangh 3-3 at Anjuna Ground. Adarsh YS scored two goals just before the breather through Sunil Virvodkar and Hrishijesh Chopdekar. Crossing over, Aniket Savordikar scored the third. Nerul scored the three goals through a Avish Halarnkar brace and a Mohan Pillai strike.
