Top seed Ritviz Parab from Salcete is in joint lead with four others at All Goa Open Rapid Chess Championship of Bardez Taluka Chess festival, organised by Bardez Taluka Chess Association (BTCA).
A total of 188 players have participated in the tournament, which includes 73 international rated chess players. The tournament uses swiss league system for a total of eight rounds. After the end of round five, Ritviz Parab (Elo 2175) has five points, the same as Anirudh Parsekar (Murmugao), Gunjal Chopdekar (Tiswadi), Aryan Raikar (Tiswadi) and Anirudg Bhat (Salcete).
The festival is organised by BTCA in collaboration with Saraswat Vidhyalay’s Sridora Caculo College under the auspices of Goa Chess Association at Saraswat Vidhyalay’s Sridora Caculo College’s Anand Giri Keni hall. The tournament will conclude on Monday, December 24.
