MARGAO: TP Boys booked their place in the final of the Victor Cardozo Memorial Football Tournament after defeating Miracle Boys 1-0 in a penalty shootout following a thrilling 1-1 draw in regulation time.
TP Boys made a bright start and took the lead in the fourth minute through their dependable striker Delzan, carrying a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.
Miracle Boys returned with renewed intensity in the second half, piling pressure on the hosts with a series of attacking moves. Their persistence paid off when Mevon unleashed a powerful strike that found the back of the net, restoring parity and taking the contest to a tiebreaker.
In the ensuing shootout, Delzan once again held his nerve to score for TP Boys, while goalkeeper Raju emerged as the hero by producing a crucial penalty save. TP Boys eventually prevailed 1-0 in the tiebreaker to seal their place in the tournament final.
