United Club Verna stormed into the quarter-finals of the 47th St Joseph Festival Cup inter-village football tournament with a convincing 4-0 win over Sporting Club Davorlim at Dramapur ground on Friday.
UC Verna took control early and went into the break with a 2-0 lead, both goals coming from Roydon Rego in the 26th and 29th minutes.
Rego completed his hat-trick shortly after the restart, scoring his third in the 40th minute to put Verna firmly in command.
Macklito D’Costa then put the result beyond doubt when he added Verna’s fourth goal in the 60th minute.
Rego was named Man of the Match for his hat-trick performance. Dramapur Sports Club president Flavio Rodrigues presented the award.
