Vasco SC sign Basith on one-year loan

Vasco Sports Club acquired the services of Kerala Blasters FC Reserves midfielder Abdul Basith on a one-year loan deal. 

The 19-year-old Kozhikode born midfielder has signed a one-year contract with the Port town team.

Basith who made his debut from the Reliance Foundation Academy in 2020 featured for the Kerala Blasters FC Reserves team and National Under-19 team something which he will hope to achieve with the Vasco Sports Club. 

Basith has been praised in his career for his work rate and being a team player. He is known to be a hardworking player who gives his 100 per cent in every game.

He has played in three positions - attacking midfield, defensive midfield, and as a striker. He has largely excelled in the attacking midfielder role, but has been equally impressive on the defensive side. 

The 19-year-old impressed with his desire to learn during the season gone by and will continue his progress with Vasco SC under the stewardship of Micky Fernandes to gain valuable experience in the competitive GFA Pro league.

Commenting on the signing of Basith, Vasco coach Micky Fernandes said, “Basith is a promising player and very talented and he played for the Under-19 National team and KBFC Reserves team. He will bring us a lot of stability in building our attack and his track record of creating chances and finding gaps into the opponent’s final third is the primary reason the staff made sure that we secured him as soon as his availability was brought to our attention.”
