The sixth edition of the Masters Table Tennis Champions League (MTTCL 6.0) promises another exciting celebration of veteran table tennis when 12 franchise teams battle for top honours on Sunday, August 9, at Rustic Rose Hall, Peddem, Mapusa.
Organised by Peddem Sports Club in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association, the league has become one of Goa's most eagerly awaited veteran sporting events, bringing together experienced paddlers in a unique franchise-based format that blends competitive sport with friendship and camaraderie. The teams were constituted earlier through a highly competitive player auction, where franchise owners and team managements bid strategically to assemble their squads, adding a professional touch to the championship.
The participating teams are divided into two pools. Pool A comprises Parrikar Constructions, Desserts N More Avengers, Diya Enterprises, Noble Car Dealers, Tuff Security and Vicky 10, while Pool B features B N Thakur, Dempo Royals, Kabir Knights, M & S Titans, SN Burye and UK Ultra. The league will feature 96 veteran paddlers, including several former Goa state players such as Amit Naik, Arun Naik, Gaurish Burye, Nilesh Kirtani, Noel Estibeiro, Sandeep D'Mello, Santosh Verenkar and Satish Agrahar besides Deepak Gopani (recent Veterans National Championships bronze medallist), promising a high standard of competition throughout the day.
