Vicky 10 defeated UK Ultra 2-1 to emerge champions of the Masters Table Tennis Champions League (MTTCL 6.0) at Rustic Rose Hall, Peddem, in a thrilling final that went down to the wire.
In the opening doubles, Mazhar Nazir and Praveen Gad defeated Noel Estibeiro and Daniel Pinto 2-0, while Satish Agrahar and Munir levelled the tie for UK Ultra by defeating Bonny D’Costa and Sohail Mulla. The decisive third doubles saw Mithun Kanji and Robert Do Rosario beat Marvando Mascarenhas and Michael Viegas 2-1 to seal the championship for Vicky 10. Earlier in the semifinals, UK Ultra defeated Tuff Security 2-0, while Vicky 10 overcame Noble Car 2-1.
The championship, organised by Peddem Sports Club in aegis with Goa TT Association, featured three doubles matches in each team tie, producing several closely fought encounters throughout the competition. Vicky 10’s title-winning squad comprised of Bharat Naik, Bonny D’Costa (Captain), Mazhar Nazir, Mithun Kanji, Pravin Gaad, Ranjan Dey, Robert Do Rosario, Sohail Mulla, Sudip Lawanis. UK Ultra’s runners-up squad: Daniel Pinto, Marvando Mascarenhas, Michael Viegas, Munir Khan, Noel Estibeiro, Sameer Kapadi, Satish Agrahar (Captain), Bharat Naik.
