Vikas High School, Valpe registered a facile 107 runs victory over Harmal Panchkrushi High School, Harmal in the first semifinal of the Late Dilip Sardessai Trophy U-16 GCA organized Pernem Zone school tournament at Tuem ground on Tuesday.
Electing to bat on winning the toss, Vikas High School posted 188 in the allotted 40 overs. Anirudh Ambrapurkar (34), Sairaj Rao (31), Saish Rao (27) and Tejas Arondekar (22) were the principal contributors. In the Harmal side attack, Sakharam Vast stole the show with impressive returns of 5/26. He was well supported by Atmaram Thakur and Aryan Narvekar who claimed two sticks each.
In reply, Harmal were bundled out for 81 in 21.3 overs with only Tejaa Dabolkar (35) making any meaningful score in the chase. Devan Palni had dream figures of 5/11 including a hat-trick that heralded a thumping win for his Valpe-based outfit. Laxman Vaddan and Dwarkanth Naik chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Vikas High School will play the winners of the other semi-final to be played on Wednesday between Parse High School, Parse and Government High School, Torse in the final on January 10 at the same ground.
