Wilred Leisure Sports Club rallied from behind to defeat Union of Chinchinim Villagers 2-1 in the Salcete Zone GFA'S Third Division league at SAG Ground, Assolna on Friday.
After a barren first session, Chinchinim took the lead in the 60th minute when Denson Fernandes bulged the net to stun the Wilred Lesiure lads. Wilred Lesiure overcame their jitters to control the tempo and striker Maxon Fernandes cancelled the lead in the 72nd minute. Three minutes later, Seville Cardozo struck the match winner to give his team three full points.
At St John the Baptist ground, Benaulim, Carmona Sports Club and Dando Boys, Benaulim were involved in a goalless draw while at Panchayat ground, Tilamola, Chandor Club came from behind to hold Tilamola United Sports Club 1-1 draw. After a goalless first half, Tilamola broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute when David Fernandes punted the ball to the far corner of the net. Ten minutes later, Chandor equalized as Velroy Fernandes' stiff grounder crashed into the net to make it 1-1.
