The Agonda United Sports Club organised a five-day football coaching camp for boys and girls aged 5 to 14 years at Agonda ground, recently.
The camp attended by 35 children (Boys and Girls) was held under the watchful eyes of Coach Razor Braganza and assisted by footballer Gilbert Fernandes of Agonda.
Children were taught basic skills like juggling, dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting, ball control and warm up exercises, besides they were given match experiences by holding matches at different points of time.
Besides, using the experience of local footballer Gilbert Fernandes, the coach also utilised other local players to assist during the camp.
Club president Tribio Goes, Secretary Mabel Fernandes and Treasurer Sanjeet Naik Gaonkar were present during the validectory function where participation certificates were given to the children.
The Agonda United Sports Club is a newly formed sports club and the camp was the first activity conducted by the club. The president Tribio Goes expressed his gratitude to the children and their parents for participating and mentioned that the club’s basic objective is to provide a platform for aspiring sportspersons to excel in their respective sport.
