MARGAO: Agxem SC booked their place in the final of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 Inter-Ward Football Tournament after edging past SFX Camarxet 5-3 in a tiebreaker at the St. Alex Church ground, Curtorim. The tournament is being organised by Sporting Club Virabhat.
Both teams played attacking football but failed to break the deadlock during regulation time. Camarxet had an early opportunity when Rohit Shetty’s header went just wide, while Agxem came close through Alroy Gomes, whose powerful shot was brilliantly saved by Camarxet goalkeeper Christo Hilario. The first half ended goalless, and despite both sides pushing hard in the second half, the match remained scoreless after full time.
In the penalty shoot-out, the successful scorers for Agxem were Joel, Savio, Agnelo, Michael, and Standly. For Camarxet, James, Versly, and Casvino found the net.
Savio Gomes of Agxem SC was awarded the Man of the Match, presented by Joaquim Fernandes, a member of Sporting Club Virabhat.
