Anay Raikar won the men's title while Shilpa Verlekar clinched the women's title at the 2nd Daivadnya carrom tournament organised by the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) and Ponda Daivadnya Brahman Samaj, supported by Goa Carrom Association at Daivadnya Hall, Ponda.
The competition was held in three categories -- men (15-49 years), women (15 & above years) and veterans (50 & above years). Guiresh Bandodkar won the veterans title. The results: Men (15-49 years) - Winner “ Anay Raikar, Runner-up “ Rahul Lotlikar, Semifinalists “ Nilesh Shirokdar & Aryan Raikar; Women (15 & above years) - Winner “ Shilpa Verlekar, Runner-up “ Deepa Anvekar, Semifinalists “ Kalpita Lotlikar & Rupali Haldankar; Veterans (50 & above years) - Winner “ Guiresh Bandodkar, Runner-up “ Pradeep Vernekar, Semifinalists “ Shyam Raikar & Gurudatta Raikar.
The winners were awarded at the hands of chief guest Hema Nagvenkar. The other winners were awarded at the hands of Sneha Kadnekar, president, Ponda Daivadnya Mahila Mandal, Deepak Lotlikar, president, Ponda Daivadnya Samaj, Dilip Sawant, chief referee, Goa Carrom Association and Prashil Salkar, president, AGDBYA.
