Batora Curtorim Veterans rally to reach semis

Batora Curtorim Veterans registered a superb 4-2 win over Bharat Veterans to book their place in the semifinals of the Batora United Veterans football tournament played at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim on Monday.

The first goal of the match was scored by Bharat Veterans through Benedict in the 30th minute. It did not take long for Batora Veterans to equalise as Abel levelled the score in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Batora scored three more goals, through Abel in the 60th minute and a brace by Addit who netted in the 70th and 80th minutes. Just few minutes before the final whistle, Nico of Bharat Veterans made it 2-4.

Dicarpale blank CAS Cansaulim 2-0
Dicarpale Sports Club downed CAC Cansaulim 2-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the Bro Eulalio Vas Memorial inter-village football tournament played at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda on Monday.

Cindroy Furtado of Dicarpale was at his best for his team while Elvino Fernandes did well for CAC Cansaulim. Both the goals were scored in the second session. Donald Rocha gave the lead to Dicarpale in the 56th minute. Agnelo Colaco made it 2-0 for Dicarpale, scoring in the 60th minute. In an earlier match, Raia SC defeated Sao Jose de Areal SC 4-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament. Liston D’Costa gave the lead to Areal SC while Velroy Borges equalised for Raia SC.

In the tiebreaker, Eldon Colaco, Garryson Fernandes and Joswel Cardozo netted for Raia SC while only Bersal Viegas and Liston D’Costa found the target for Areal SC.

Navelim VU book last-eight berth
Navelim Villagers Union defeated United Club of Seraulim 5-4 via the tiebreaker to enter the last-eight stage of the Carmona Village Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Carmona Sports Club at Carmona Panchayat ground.

UC Seraulim were leading by two goals scored by Senato and Mohsin in the first half. In the second session, Navelim Villagers Union fought back brilliantly and equalised through strikes from Clinton and Joseph. In the tiebreaker, Navelim Villagers Union proved to be the better shooters.
