The Anjuna Comunidade has decided that Rs 75 lakh would be charged as fees for the use of land by Sunburn EDM festival at Vagator.
The comunidade also decided to charge Rs 16 lakh as fees for the organisation of India Bike Week 2022 and Rider Mania 2022, which are biking stunt events.
The Anjuna Comunidade had convened a general meeting on Sunday to discuss the proposed granting of NOC to these events.
Some of the Gaonkars opined that the organisers are using their land to make profits but paying lesser amount as fees to the Comunidade.
The members of the Comunidade zeroed in on the fees of Rs 75 lakh for organising Sunburn and Rs 16 lakh for organising India Bike Week and Rider Mania.
The Comunidade President Domingo Pereira spoke at the meeting and their decision to charge fees for the usage of comunidade land. The three events would be charged, he said, adding, their organisers have contacted them for the permission to use the land.
“Organisers of Sunburn will be charged Rs 75 lakh and organisers of India Bike and Rider Mania respectively would be charged Rs 16 lakh,” stated Pereira.
“The minutes of the proposals will be sent to the North Goa Comunidade administrator and a copy of the proposals will also be shared with the organisers. The organisers will have to pay the charges to the Comunidade before the issuing of NOC,” Pereira added.
Sunburn is being organised in the last week of December for the past many years on the Vagator hilltop and comunidade land is also being used for organising for other events during this period.
