Learning outcomes in Goa's schools will henceforth be monitored on a weekly basis and the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT) has set up a centre -- Vidya Samiksha Kendra -- where progress of each child will be tracked digitally.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the education portfolio, will launch a digital tool on Tuesday, which will kick-start the practice of monitoring learning outcomes in schools, weekly.
Education department officials said, the programme which will use a chat-bot involves feeding in elaborate inputs related to students' progress in the learning process in schools.
"Each student will be provided an unique identification number (UID) just as the Aadhar Card gives them a UID," SCERT Director Nagaraj Honnikeri said.
The Vidya Samiksha Kendra is a model Sawant witnessed in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on his visit there in June.
Education Director, Shailesh Zingade, said the education department signed an MoU with the agency implementing the programme in Gujarat which has now developed a model for Goa.
Zingade said, nearly 2 lakh students have been registered for the programme. Also, over 13,500 teachers are also registered.
Sawant will launch the programme at a function to be held at his official Altinho residence on Tuesday evening.
