Betalbatim defeated a fighting Arlem Youth Association 5-3 via the tie-breaker in the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim. The match rose to great heights with attack and counter attack in which Sheehan Fernandes of Arlem was a constant threat to Betalbatim. In a counter attack, Ronaldo Coelho shot in goal for Betalbatim 1-0.
Crossing over Betalbatim kept the pressure on Arlem and succeeded in increasing the lead through their key defender Alarico D’Cunha to make the score 2-0. However, Arlem fought back with goals from Velito D’Cruz and Joy Quadros to restore the parity with the score 2-2.
In the tie-breaker, Ashley Fernandes, Alarico D’Cunha, Ronaldo Coelho, Oliver D’Souza, Joelon Fernandes scored for Betalbatim while Danny Fernandes, Joston Barbosa, Movin Gauncar converted for Arlem while Velito D’Cruz muffed his chance enabling Betalbatim to enter the quarters.
