A fine strike by Dixon Rogtav sent host Betalbatim Sports Club into the semi-finals of 6th Martins Cup after defeating CAC Cansaulim by solitary goal, organised by Betalbatim Sports Club, at panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Thursday.
In the sixth minute, Jesus Ferrao shot from the box went over the crossbar. Macon Pereira sent a cross pass to Dixon Rogtav who slotted past the Cansaulim goalkeeper in the 24th minutes to take the lead.
In second session, CAC Cansaulim went all out in search of the equaliser. Arron Fernandes, Rahul Nagvekar,Dominic Soares tried their best but the Betalbatim defence of Senartro, Brenson and Azan stood firm to hold on to their slender lead. Milton D'Souza who was the goalkeeper of Betalbatim played a major role in their win.
Keith Vaz, Ex-MP of Labour Party UK presented man of the match to Betalbatim's Keith Rodrigues.
