CAC Cansaulim moved into the quarterfinals after trouncing Ambelim SC 4-1 of the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2023 organised by Curtorim Gymkhana at Curtorim ground on Sunday.
Cansaulim scored in the very first minute through Domnic Soares, 1-0. Cansaulim dominated the first half, scoring two more goals through Agnelo D'souza in the 19th minute and 30th minute to make it 3-0 in the first half.
In the second half, Agnelo D'souza of Cansaulim scored his hat-trick in the 42nd minute to make it 4-0. Ambelim scored the lone goal through Richard Fernandes in the 59th minute, 1-4. CAC Cansaulim's Agnelo D'souza was awarded the man-of-the-match award at the hands of Alex Dias, ex-sports secretary of Curtorim Gymkhana.
Nerul SC drub DBO Fatorda, in quarters
Nerul SC defeated Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda 2-0 to move into the quarterfinals of the 31st St Rock Super Soccer at Calata Majorda ground on Sunday. Nerul netted two quick goals in the second half through Ramsley Gonsalves and Chaitan Clabholkar, who netted in the 60th and 70th minutes respectively.
Multi-sport camps at Panjim Gymkhana
PANAJI: Panjim Gymkhana will conduct summer camps across six sports disciplines - cricket, swimming, tennis, badminton, chess and table tennis. Over 70 children have registered for the camps, which will begin on April 17 and conclude on May 27 at Panjim Gymkhana.
The camps conducted by expert coaches are tailor-made for children under 17 years of age and will teach them life skills, discipline and a healthy lifestyle. The coaches: badminton - Luciano Soares, chess - Shravan Barve, cricket - Robin D'Souza, swimming - Indrajeet Khadilkar/Pancham Kelkar, table tennis - Ashwin Kunkolikar, tennis - Santosh Gorawar.
Swimmer Sanjana wins bronze in Malaysia
Goan swimmer Sanjana Prabhugaonker won a bronze medal in 200m backstroke at the 58th Milo/MAS Malaysia Invitational age group swimming championship. Representing India, Sanjana grabbed the podium finish at National Aquatic Centre, Kuala Lumpur Sports City, Bukti Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
