MARGAO: Cana Benaulim Sporting Association edged past Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club 4“3 to book their place in the semifinals of the GFA Futsal Football Championship at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, on Monday.
Cana Benaulim SA dominated the first half, keeping their opponents under constant pressure. Kegan Afonso and Aloysius Carvalho struck a brace each to give their side a strong advantage going into the break.
In the second half, Rosman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club staged a spirited fightback. Their momentum, however, was halted when a spot-kick was brilliantly saved by Cana Benaulim goalkeeper Savio Fernandes. Despite the setback, Allister Rego and Anand Krishna managed to score a goal each for Nagoa, keeping the contest alive until the end.
