MARGAO: Shiroda Youth Club registered a narrow 1“0 victory over St. Rock Youth Club, Majorda to advance to the next round of the Assumption Cup at Sarzora Ground on Monday.
The decisive goal came in the 18th minute when Astal Dias netted with a well-placed finish, giving Shiroda an early advantage.
St. Rock Youth Club, Majorda responded with determination and created several scoring opportunities in their bid to equalise, but the Shiroda defence held firm to secure the win.
Despite being on the losing side, Fredy Fernandes of Majorda was named Man of the Match for his standout performance. The award was presented by Rovan Pereira, proprietor of Poixe Plus.
