Carmel SC enter Macazana Cup semis

Carmel Sports Club Telaulim Navelim beat Arlem Youth Association 7-5 via tiebreaker to move into the semifinals of the 2nd Macazana Panchayat Cup organised by Macazana Welfare Club at Macazana Panchayat ground on Wednesday.

Arlem Youth Association's Garrison Fernandes opened the scoreline in the 19th minute but the joy was short-lived as Carmel equalised through Melison Dias in the 21st minute. Carmel's Derren Peixoto was named the Man of the match.

GFA prez meets AIFF secretary general
Goa Football Association president Dr Caitano Fernandes met All India Football Federation Secretary General Dr Shaji Prabhakaran and discussed a wide range of subjects.

The AIFF official assured Goan football of all help and cooperation in the future. Speaking after the meeting, Fernandes said: "We went for the meetings with an open mind and have come back richer. It was a great opportunity and the outcome was a kind of in-depth discussion that will help Indian football grow. We had long deliberations on various issues of football and explored the possibilities of collaborations that will take Goan football ahead." 

TKAG karate classes by Sensei Rodrigues
PANAJI: Sensei Joseph Rodrigues, 7th Degree Black Belt and president of the Traditional Karate Association of Goa, which is the only recognised body for karate in Goa, is starting new batches for karate.

The batches will be held at Pharmacy College - Panaji on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 pm (open for all ages) and at Dojo De Goa at Caculo Mall - Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6.30 am (for adults only) and on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 4.30 pm (for beginners and kids below 10 yrs). The 6 pm batch is open for all above 10 yrs, adults and senior belts. Karatekas holding grades from any karate organisation can join the batch.

A new batch for corporates and adults will be held at 7.30 pm. A summer batch for all kids will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.30 am. A yellow belt course is assured. For details, contact Dojo de Goa at Caculo Mall or call 9049915164.
