The Centenary Chess Club, in partnership with Celestial Minds USA, orchestrated a highly successful All Goa Classical Chess Tournament 2025, drawing a remarkable 192 chess enthusiasts from all corners of Goa. The event featured parallel competitions for both rated and unrated players, highlighting the depth of chess talent in the state.
The Rated category witnessed a fierce battle for supremacy, with Mandar Pradip Lad ultimately claiming the top spot. He was closely followed by Manvith Kanajalu in second place and Saras Summer Powar securing third. Atharva Sawal and Rishikesh Parab rounded out the top five, taking fourth and fifth place respectively.
In the Unrated division, Taaj Gharse emerged as the champion, demonstrating impressive skill. Atharva Singh secured the second position, while Sanika Shyamrao Naik claimed third. The fourth and fifth places were earned by Aaron Alex D Souza and Joash Cardozo.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by prominent figures including Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Satardekar (businessman), IA Sanjay Kavlekar (SAG Coach), Shri Kishor Bandekar (President of MTCA), and Shri Rajiv Arondekar (CEO of Centenary Chess Club).
Generous sponsorship from former Karnataka State Champion, Kavyashree Mallanna, played a crucial role in the tournament's success. The All Goa Classical Chess Tournament 2025 undoubtedly fostered a spirit of healthy competition and provided a platform to showcase Goa's thriving chess community.
