MARGAO
Compassion FC girls clinched the championship title in the FC Goa-organised Girls Under-13 Little Gaurs Football League (South Zone) for the 2023-24 season. The Kings School secured the runners-up position in the tournament.
Lillian Rodrigues was honoured as the Best Player of the tournament, while Sahana Gaonkar claimed the top scorer title with an impressive tally of 9 goals. Analee D’Costa from the Kings School was recognised as the most promising player.
During the league phase, the Compassion team dominated with 32 points from 12 games, winning 10 matches and drawing twice. Meanwhile, Kings School amassed 28 points with one draw and two losses. Fatima School secured the bronze medal position with 18 points.
The presentation ceremony, held at the Sinquetim Ground, saw former India coach Savio Madeira and Mariano Dias, former assistant national coach, handing out the trophies. Dias also graced the event as the guest of honour.
