Davondem Veterans defeated Viva North Veterans to move into the quarter-finals of the 1st All Goa Veterans football tournament, organised by Sucaldem Youth Club, played at SYC playground on Friday.

In the first half, Davondem pumped in three goals. The goal scorers were Seby Vaz, Francisco Colaco and Robert Fernandes. Viva North Veterans rallied back in the second half and scored through Prashant, assisted by Victor. However, Davondem dug their heels in to secure a 3-1 win.

Davondem will play the quarter-finals against the winners of the match between Carmona Veterans and Excel Roves Veterans.

Claston and Ronaldo win 2-a-side title

MARGAOClaston and Ronaldo, Palolem beat St Anthony's Mestimol 2-1 to win All Goa 2-a-side tie-breaker football tournament, organised in memory of Aniceto and Adrin Cardozo by Young Boys of United Club FC, at Agonda ground. Claston and Ronaldo bagged a cash prize of Rs 8,000, while St Anthony's had to settle for a prize of Rs 5,000. Agonda Sarpanch Pramod Phal Dessai was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
