The Fr Castellino Memorial basketball tournament, a 3-day event organised by the Loyola Ex-students Association saw over 160 players, both boys and girls, participating in the tournament and showcasing competitive spirit in the presence of an enthusiastic crowd, recently.
In the boys category, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda dominated the finals against Sonics, winning 45-27. Sean Fernandes (18 points) and David (12 points) led DBO Fatorda to victory, while Kayden (10 points) and Roy (6 points) put up a good fight for Sonics.
In the girls' category, Sonics Panjim emerged victorious over Fatima Convent High School-Margao with a final score of 27-10. Kim D'souza (12 points) and Itcha (7 points) were instrumental for Sonics, while Alysa (4 points) and Eryn (3 points) played well for Fatima Convent.
The medals, trophies, cash prizes, and certificates were presented by Fr. William Rodrigues SJ in the presence of Fr. Basil Vago SJ, Fr. Jimmy Mendes SJ, and Fr. Raul D'souza SJ.
