Sporting Clube de Goa assistant coach Climax Lawrence believes that Mumbai's Maharashtra Oranje FC will be a force to be reckoned despite their struggles as the two square off in the I- League 2, at COE Khargar, Mumbai, on Sunday.
The Flaming Oranje hoping to win all three points against the Mumbai outfit.
Sporting Clube de Goa are currently on third place with 19 points while Maharashtra Oranje FC occupy bottom place with 8 points Sporting Clube de Goa will be without midfielder Dattaraj Gaonkar.
However, Lawrence believes the Maharashtra Oranje FC are still dangerous, saying his ranks are ready to give their best eyeing win in the important match.
"These games are always played amid great competition between the two teams. Every remaining match will be decisive for us. We will play the match as if it is a final and there is no substitute for winning,” he added.
The Goan assistant coach is seeking a positive result against the league leaders. “We have begun our preparations for the important match, which is a match against a big team that has excellent players. We must be fully prepared to achieve a positive result,” said Lawrence.
“Our competitor in the next match is a big club and a strong team, and it is certainly not the ideal season for them, but that does not prevent us from emphasising that they are one of the strongest teams in the league and we respect this team as we respect all our competitors,” he said.
"Victory requires focus and discipline and I hope luck will be on our side in this match to win and get the three points,” Lawrence concluded.
