PANAJI: Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science, and Commerce reached the state finals of the Subroto Cup football tournament for the third consecutive year after defeating St. Xavier's HSS, Mapusa, with a 2-0 victory in the North District Finals, at Duler Stadium.
Favio Martins opened the scoring for Dempo HSS in the 25th minute, putting his team ahead. Jodrich Abranches extended the lead in the 61st minute with a direct free kick, effectively sealing the match for Dempo HSS and ending St Xavier's HSS's chances.
