Dovandem Veterans defeated Fatorda Veterans 1-0 to enter into the semi-finals of the 1st all Goa UK/US Boys Veterans football tournament organised by Mix Friends Benaulim and played at Xembu Moll ground, Benaulim.
The match began on a fast pace with Dovandem dominant in the midfield and scoring the lone goal in the 14th minute when playmaker Bruno Coutinho put a superb pass to Allwyn Fernandes who slotted past goalkeeper Francisco Costa. Bruno who was in superb form created two more chances but Allwyn wasted.
Dovandem were on back foot after the restart to protect the slender lead and were dealt with a severe blow when defender Caitano was sent off for double bookings. Dovandem with a man short defended superbly with Agnelo and Rafik outstanding at the end. Goalkeeper Soccoro Azavedo made a brilliant save to deny Shailesh Misquin a late equaliser.
