FC Goa secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Churchill Brothers FC in the AIFF Sub-Junior League 2025-26 at Holy Trinity Ground, Benaulim, on Saturday. Piyush Aeer scored the match-winning goal in the 63rd minute, handing FC Goa all three points.
On Friday, Belgaum United Football Academy registered a convincing 2-0 victory over South Goa United Club Sports and Culture at Don Bosco Ground, Fatorda.
Belgaum United led 1-0 at half-time after dominating proceedings and keeping their opponents on the back foot for most of the game. They broke the deadlock in the 9th minute when Laitonjam Singh found the back of the net with a clinical finish.
Continuing in the same attacking vein after the break, Belgaum maintained control and sealed the win in the 90th minute through Nigthoujam Singh, who calmly slotted home to make it 2-0.
In another match at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, Salgaocar FC defeated Sesa Football Academy 2-0.
Both teams displayed attacking intent, but Salgaocar FC capitalised on their chances. Carroy Fernandes opened the scoring in the 56th minute, while Melfun Fernandes sealed the victory with a goal in the 87th minute.
