Goa College of Engineering defeated V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar by 54 runs in the Goa University inter-collegiate cricket championship 2023-24 for women, at Goa University Cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by VM Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar and elected to bowl first.
Goa College of Engineering posted 124/1 in 10 overs. Riya Naik 41(52) and Vaishnavi Phadke 26(32) made sure that their team put up a formidable target for their opponents' to chase.
In reply, V M Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar were restricted to 70/6 in 10 overs.
Simran Kanekar 17(21) and Reeya Shetye 15(22) were the top scorers of the innings. Riya Naik (2/9) and Vaishnavi Phadke (1/10) were yet again outstanding with their bowling figures this time.
In the fourth quarter-final, Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management by 86 runs.
The toss was won by Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College, Assagao who elected to bat first.
The Assagao College posted 129/2 in 10 overs. Tanaya Naik 57(34) and Mitali Gawander 24(15) were excelled with the bat.
In reply, Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce could only amass 43/5 in 10 overs.
Riya Folkar 11*(24) was the lone stand out of the innings. Tanaya Naik (1/02), Mitali Gawander (1/03) were economical with their bowling for DMC Assagao.
