Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao defeated P.E.S. Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi 1-0 in the Goa University’s Inter-College Women’s Football Championship held at Goa University ground, Taleigao.
The sole goal was scored by Pooja Nishad in the 27th minute.
In the second match, Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem triumphed over Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna in a tie-breaker with a 2-1 score. Goals in the tie-breaker were scored by Sanjana Naik and Samartha Shirodkar.
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao edged out Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao 2-0 in a tie-breaker, after a 1-1 draw in regular time in the third match. Sania Cardozo of Don Bosco scored in the 12th minute, and Criffa Pereira of Chowgule equalised in the 25th minute. In the tie-breaker, Raynel Dias and Sania Cardozo scored for Don Bosco.
Meanwhile at Rosary Church ground, Navelim, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa was awarded a walkover against Ganpat Parsekar College, Harmal.
Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim defeated VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Management, Manora-Raia, Salcete 3-0. Gauri Naik scored the first goal in the third minute, followed by Babita Velip’s double in the 37th and 45th minutes.
Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar overwhelmed Agnel Institute of Technology, Assagao with a 8-0 victory. Flancy Carvalho netted a hat-trick with goals in the third, sixth, and 20th minutes. Latisha Menezes scored twice in the 30th and 55th minutes, while Shalomi Parab, Amisha Mashelkar, and Sania Lucas each added a goal in the 25th, 40th, and 49th minutes respectively.
