MARGAO: Goa Velha Sports Club scored a comfortably 2-0 win over St Anthony's Club, Colva to move into the quarter-finalS of 16th London Trophy inter village football tournament, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club, at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
Franky Cabral put Goa Velha ahead through his effort which landed into the Colva nets in the very fourth minute. Goa Velha Sports Club consolidated the lead in the 10th minutethrough Vikranth Mangueshkar.
In a one sided encounter, Goa Velha Sports Club missed to increase further but Alme Fernandes shot straight into the hands of St Anthony's Club keeper. Towards the fag end of the match, Joy Gonsalves played a brilliant through ball to Franky Cabral who shot wide with only the keeper to beat.
Franky Cabral was awarded the Man of the Match by Elvis Mendes, ex-President of Goa Velha SC and representative of Villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.
