The Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust conducted the players' auction for the Alcon GSB Unity Cup 3.0 in Panaji.
The event, attended by franchise owners and stakeholders, set the stage for an exciting new season. The GSB Unity trophy was also unveiled during the ceremony.
The tournament will feature 10 franchises competing in 25 league matches, with 184 registered players. The auction saw several high bids, with Vikrant Prabhu of CD Fountainheads becoming the most expensive player at 50,00,000 points.
Tournament convener Venkat Biche announced that this year's edition will follow a franchise-based format, a departure from previous zonal editions. Guests of Honour, including Rajesh Dempo and Yogiraj Kamat, praised the event's organisation and the Unity Cup's role in fostering community unity through sports.
