Hosts Guardian Angel SC Curchorem beat Curtorim Gymkhana 5-4 via the tiebreaker in the finals of the Late Fr Gervasio Pinto Memorial football tournament played at Figueredo ground, Pontemol-Curchorem.
Both the teams played decent football and kept the crowds entertained but couldn't break the deadlock. In the first session, Curtorim Gymkhana's Milagres Fernandes missed an open chance to beat the Guardian Angel goalkeeper Russel Fernandes and place the ball in the net.
In the second half, Guardian Angel's Myron Mendes sent a powerful shot but it was punched away by Curtorim goalkeeper Johnson Bagot. Before the final whistle, both teams missed opportunities to score and the match was decided with penalty kicks.
In the tiebreaker, Guardian Angel scored through Myron, Keagan, Regan, Ivo and Miltan while Curtorim netted through Joy, Fredy, Anselm and Savio.

Nilesh Cabral, MLA of Curchorem and former PWD minister, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Pradeep C Naik, chairperson of CCMC, Dr Caitano Fernandes, President of GFA, Jasmine Braganza, Councillor, Anthony Pango, GFA Vice-president, Cosme Olivera, GFA Executive member, Lecter Mascarenhas, former India midfielder and other dignitaries and club officials.
