Margao-based Ignitus Basketeers overcame a spirited Don Bosco Oratory Panjim team 34-11 on day 2 of the U-16 State Basketball championship in association with Goa Basketball Association, at Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda.
Conrad with 19 points for the winners and Srinivas with 4 points for the Panjim team played their hearts out. In the day's second match, strong favourites Sonics girls team, easily overcame the challenge of an upcoming Siolim Basketeers team 22-0. Kim with 7 points and Keiya with 6 points top scored for the Sonics team.
In the last match of the day, 2 Don Bosco teams squared off against each other, in a tense match that went down to the last minute as Don Bosco Panjim ultimately prevailed over Don Bosco Fatorda 9-8. Danie scored 6 for the losing team while Laxmi scored 3 for the winners.
