In yet another big win, Jana-Sena lifts the 10th Maratha Trophy-2024, Canacona Taluka League Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament organised by Young Maratha Delem.
This is Jana-Sena’s second major win of the month after taking away Dhuri Rolling Trophy 2024.
After winning the toss in the final match, and deciding to bowl first, the innings of the Young Maratha team collapsed in front of Munna's penetrating strike. Ganesh and Gaurav gave him valuable support. Young Maratha team scored 65/8 in the allotted 6 overs with Uday Shet contributing 39 runs.
While chasing the score on the strength of the timely batting of Pratik Pagi (28 runs) and Lewis (17 runs), Jana-Sena took the match in their stride with 8 wickets in only 3.3 overs.
Lewis Barreto was adjudged as Man of the Series and Best Bowler whereas Munna Bhagat took the honours as Man of the Match. Akhil Desai was adjudged as the best Batsman of the Tournament.
The winning team was awarded Rs 50,000 in cash and Maratha Trophy while the Runner-Up team had to be content with Rs 25,000 and a Cup.
M S Rising ranked as the Third team in the Tournament.
Ex-Vice Chairperson (CMC) Kishore Shet, V.P. Shristhal panch Rajesh Velip alonwith Jana-Sena patron member Bhavna Bhandari watched the final match.
