PANAJI: The Khelo India State Centre of Excellence at the Peddem Sports Complex will conduct selection trials for the 2026“27 batch on April 16, with entries open for badminton, swimming and table tennis.
The trials will begin at 7.30 am at the Peddem Sports Complex in Mapusa. Boys and girls aged between 9 and 18 years as on January 1, 2026, are eligible to participate.
The disciplines will be overseen by head coaches Irfan Khan (badminton, 9886417597), Sujith T A (swimming, 9743300093) and Opendra Singh (table tennis, 7085909914), who will also coordinate registrations.
Participants are required to share their name and date of birth with the respective coaches via WhatsApp prior to the trials. They must also carry original documents for verification, including a birth certificate, Aadhaar card, five passport-size photographs and any sports achievement certificates.
Selected athletes will be inducted into the residential Khelo India programme, which provides expert coaching, sports science support and international-standard infrastructure, along with sports kits, boarding, lodging and transport.
Officials said selected candidates and their parents will be required to submit an undertaking certificate and a notarised indemnity bond before joining the academy.
