The stage is set for an exciting finale as Loyola High School, Margao gear up to take on St Xavier’s High School, Velim in the title clash of the Salcete Football Club 45th Anniversary U-12 Inter-School Football Tournament. The final will be played on November 22 at 5 pm at the Sinquetim Sports Complex, Navelim.
Loyola marched into the final after topping Group A, edging out Manovikas High School on goal difference. Both teams finished the group stage unbeaten with seven points each, but Loyola’s sharper finishing proved decisive. Their campaign began with a fighting 2-1 win over Rosary HS, followed by a commanding 2-0 victory over Bethany HS. A goalless draw against Manovikas in the final round was enough to seal their spot at the top.
In Group B, St Xavier’s HS, Velim recovered strongly after an opening-round loss to Perpetual Succour HS. They drew 0-0 with Our Lady of Health before finishing the group on a high with a solid 2-0 win over The Kings School, securing their place in the final.
