Margao Cricket Club (MCC) and Geno Sports Club delivered impressive performances to outplay their respective opponents in the Premier Division One-Day League organized by the Goa Cricket Association, on Friday.

At the GCA Academy ground in Porvorim, MCC bowlers dismantled the Panjim Gymkhana batting lineup with clinical precision. Opting to bat first, Panjim Gymkhana were bundled out for a modest 110 runs in 31 overs. Early wickets put them under pressure, and despite some resistance from Mohit Redkar (33) and Dishank Prabhu Misquin (24), the rest of the batting unit failed to contribute significantly.

MCC's bowling attack was spearheaded by Heramb Parab, who delivered a match-winning spell, claiming 4 wickets for just 17 runs in 7 overs. Deepraj Gaonkar provided excellent support with 3 wickets, while Faiz Sayyed and Anuj Yadav maintained tight lines to restrict the scoring.

Chasing a target of 111, MCC faced minor hiccups early on but recovered steadily thanks to a composed knock from Aryan Narvekar, who remained unbeaten on 51. His innings included six boundaries and a six. He was well-supported by Chigurupati Venkata (14 not out) as MCC comfortably reached the target in 18.2 overs.

In another match played at GCA Ground Sanguem-Cotarlim, Geno Sports Club secured a four-wicket win over Dempo Cricket Club. Batting first, Dempo posted 186 runs in 37.3 overs. Jeevan Chittem led the charge with a well-crafted 77, supported by Aditya (34) and Abhinav Tej Rana (28).

However, Geno's Vikas Singh turned the game around with a sensational bowling performance, picking up 6 wickets for just 19 runs in 8 overs, triggering a collapse in the Dempo innings.

In response, Geno made a positive start with Veer Yadav scoring a quick 22. Captain Manthan Khutkar anchored the chase with a steady 55, while Kaushal Hattangadi contributed a valuable 36. Vikas Singh capped off his all-round performance by scoring an unbeaten 23, guiding Geno to victory in 32.4 overs.
