Sudhan Mopkar, Teddy Cardozo, Amit Parwar and Sapna Patel won in various categories of All-Goa marathon organised by Shree Aai Navadurga Sports and Cultural Club at Madkai recently.
A total of 350 participants competed and all who completed the marathon were awarded a medal. Aditya Panjikar, a social worker, was the chief guest at the prize presentation ceremony, while Padmanabh Prabhudesai, headmaster of Kamakshi High School, Shiroda, was the guest of honour. Sandeep Naik, a social worker, was the special invitee.
The winners: 5km above 40 years - 1st Sudhan Mopkar (Rs 3,000), 2nd Manoj Nair (Rs 2,500), 3rd Anand Nair (Rs 2,000); 5km below 40 years - 1st Teddy Cardozo (Rs 3,000), 2nd Narendra Talguly (Rs 2,500), 3rd Ajay Kumar Bind (Rs 2000); Open category 3 km boys - 1st Amit Parwar (Rs 2500), 2nd Kunal Shirodkar (Rs 2000), 3rd Mangal Kumar (Rs 1500); Open category 3 km girls - 1st Sapna Patel (Rs 2500), 2nd Sweezal D'Soza (Rs 2000), 3rd Vandhana Patel (Rs 1500). All the top finishers were given a trophy and a certificate.
