Navelim Sports Club delivered a commanding performance to thrash UBD Colva 4-0 in the opening match of the 24th Benaulim Villagers Cup, held at the St John the Baptist Panchayat Ground in Benaulim.
From the outset, Navelim’s midfield duo of Ronaldo and Joyson dictated play, setting the tone for a dominant display. Venito Costa opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a well-taken goal, and Ronald quickly added a second just ten minutes later, sending Navelim into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
The second half saw more of the same, with Navelim controlling possession and carving out chance after chance. Ronaldo made it 3-0 with a superb glancing header that left Colva goalkeeper Mycio rooted to the spot. Meliston Dias rounded off the rout in the 51st minute, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Navelim side.
