MARGAO: Novovado Sports Club secured a 2-0 victory over Sporting Club of Virabhat to progress to the next round of the Fondegal Youth Club 9-A-Side Interward Football Tournament 2025, held at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
The game began with both teams on the offensive, creating multiple scoring opportunities. However, it was Alvito Hiliario who broke the deadlock in the 15th minute with a brilliant strike, giving Novovado a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Sporting Club of Virabhat pressed hard in the early minutes of the second half, but their efforts were thwarted by a solid Novovado defence. Nessilo Fernandes later doubled the lead for Novovado, sealing the win.
Alvito Hiliario’s standout performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
