The fifth edition of the Open Navy Windsurfing Championship began at the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Center (INWTC), Goa from Wednesday. The championship which is also a national ranking event conducted annually will continue till Sunday.
According to a press release, the first edition of ‘Open Navy Windsurfing Championship’ with 32 participants was conducted by the INWTC (Goa) at Hawaii Beach, Dona Paula in April 2016, under the aegis of Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA) and Yachting Association of India (YAI).
“The current edition is expected to witness a record participation of more than a hundred windsurfing enthusiasts from all over the country. Adequate measures are breing instituted to ensure strict compliance to COVID-19 protocols and social distancing norms,” added the press note.
