Parish Youth Nuvem edge past Chandor Club

Parish Youth Nuvem edged past Chandor Club 7-6 via tiebreaker to book a spot in the quarterfinals of the III Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup 2025, organised by the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at the Fr. Druston and Wellington Ground, Cavelossim.

In a well-balanced encounter, both teams played attacking football. Rivaldo and Alreach Peixote impressed for Chandor Club with their runs down the left flank, but Darwin Colaco and Jaywin Costa of Parish Youth, Nuvem stood firm in defence, denying them any clear chances on goal.

The first half ended goalless, with both sides failing to convert their opportunities.

In the 60th minute, Chandor were awarded a free kick from outside the penalty area. Moses D'Sa floated in a perfectly weighted ball to Alreach Peixote, who calmly slotted it in from close range to give Chandor a 1-0 lead.

However, Nuvem responded immediately. In the very next minute, they earned a penalty, which was confidently converted by Alvito Dias, leveling the score at 1-1 by the end of regulation time.

The match proceeded to a tense tiebreaker, where Leroy, Shenoy, Darwin, Francis, Frazer, Cedar, and Alvito Dias all scored for Parish Youth, Nuvem. For Chandor, Brivon, Ashwell, Moises, Akram, Velroy, and Alreach Peixote found the net, but Rivaldo Cardozo’s attempt was brilliantly saved by Nuvem goalkeeper Presley, sealing a dramatic 7-6 victory for Nuvem.

Hipolito Fernandes, veteran committee member of the club, presented the Food Court Man of the Match award to Velroy Cardozo of Chandor Club.
